Norway: food, fun, and friends

I realise how lucky I am to have an international career and an international family: I get to travel the world for a living, I have a chance to celebrate different holidays with my family members scattered around the globe, and there is always the privilege of meeting new people, exchanging ideas, and deriving inspiration. However, in every place I visit, I leave a piece of my heart — I get extremely attached to the charm of a new city, to strangers who smile, and to the sounds of yet another community. As my adventures in Norway were coming to an end, I was thinking of how I will remember the country: full of handsome strangers, fifty types of pickled herring, and the breathtaking beauty of the North. So long, Norway, and I hope to be back one day.

  1. Had just decided to make Norwegian potato dumplings for an early din-dins today when I found this blog post in my Feedly. It’s a good thing I’ve already booked my trip home for Christmas, or this would have made me feel really rather homesick! Gorgeous photos (as usual), but what has happened to the troll since your previous photo of him? Not only is he having a seriously bad hair day, he seems to have gone totally OTT with black eyeshadow…? 😉
